What Is Collective Unconscious
Collective unconscious is a very interesting and a great idea/fact which can add eternity and truthfulness into our knowledge and awareness. If you are not afraid of facing truth as well as you find satisfaction by knowing your own self and reflection, you will find this theory not only attractive but also practically informative and beneficial. This theory finds its roots into Greek civilization but its crown narrator is “Carl Gaustav Jung” a Swiss Psychologist. According to this theory, we all possess an individual brain as you know, but this theory also indicates a “collective brain” located somewhere in the universe or within the universe. That collective brain is interconnected with all individual brains and the “suppressed” data of all individual brains goes and stored in that collective brain. What is this “suppressed data”? This is a branch of this theory among other important aspects of the same theory. First of all, lets discuss this portion of it.
Each and every individual must have suppressed some data in his mind; that data could be “unaddressed truths” relating to his life, “suppressed desires” due to social or personal pressure or due to ethical or religious restrictions; “unspoken words” and the goals which a person could not achieve due to some random reasons. That kinds of data are known as “suppressed material” and one has to carry this unnecessary burden for whole his life if it is not settled or addressed. There are ways to settle or address such data which is a different topic and I will compose an article for elaborating it.
This suppressed material shapes a “shadow” of an individual. When we stand in light and there is a shadow of our physical body while the shadow which is being mentioned here, is the shadow of our inner self. That shadow is located in collective brain and every individual’s shadow is connected to the person as well as it influences the person’s physical presence on this planet in one way or the other. The male version of that shadow is known as “Anima” and female version is “Animus”. As have mentioned above, that shadow is built with suppressed material so it shows the characteristics of the individual which the person does not recognize or does not want to recognize into his personality. For Example, a tough and hard man’s shadow must be soft and tender while the shadow of a kind and generous woman must be hard and tough. This is not compulsory but it happens most of the time because we all humans like to present our positive side of personality into the society where we live in and, consequently, we suppress the negative side of human nature so most of shadows consist of evil, anger and hatred. These are the characteristics which majority people suppress in their mind because expressing these traits can perform harm and danger for an individual.
One part of this theory tells that the combine shape of evil like Satan, witch, jinn and vampire is actually a collective shadow of all shadows because most of the people suppress negative traits of human nature so collectively, every shadow forms that kind of collective evil part. There is also a positive shape of shadow which is generated by the people who keep their good within their mind. These are the people which practice noble and good deeds but do not like to show off; in this case, the shadow possesses these noble and good traits which had been suppressed by the good people of the world.
There is another important part of this theory known as “Archetypes” which is actually based on symbols and the habits of our ancestor’s knowledge came through genes to us. As well as it is “inherited knowledge” from nature. For instance, a frog knows how to be a frog and a fish knows how to be a fish. In humans, the concept of “mother” is the famous archetype.
Worldly and spiritual benefits of Collective Unconscious are undoubtedly unfathomable. First of all, the person acquires wisdom which provides him such a nice pace of thinking and living, that he becomes able to perform in a very professional and practical ways into the fields of life. One who knows the concept of Collective unconscious, he gains patience and forgiveness which are basic ingredients of success in any profession. On the other hand, the concept of “karma”, (Makafatay Amal) or “Echo of deeds” comes from the concept of Collective brain; so a person who knows the theory, he gains the habit of commiting good deeds while dealing with others and this is very fruitful habit on a long run. “Be good to others, if you want to be dealt in a good way”. This is not a law by the state which could be broken but this is the law of nature which is unbreakable. I hope now you know at least one law of nature and soon you will know more.
